While there are many adult education resources available on the Internet, most that we are able to locate were developed in North America and Europe. Keep us informed about new sites and/or listserves from other regions and on innovative use of electronic resources. We will share this information with Convergence readers and visitors to the ICAE web page.

Databases and General Resource Listings

  • AskERIC
    The Internet-based education information services and database of the Educational Resources Information Centrer (ERIC). Allows ERIC searches and access to other ERIC documents.
  • National Adult Literacy Database
    A Canadian database of information on literacy programmes and organizations. Includes lists of resources, links to other literacy sites and discussion groups.

  • Adult Learning Australia
    This page provides information on ALA and its members, programmes, actions and initiatives, announcements of current events and publications and links to Adult Learners Week, Learning Circles and the Adult Learning Online database.
  • Centre for Continuing and Adult Education in South Africa
    Provides information on CACE and its teaching programme, information on research, lists resources and publications.
  • Commonwealth of Learning
    The sites includes information on the organization and events, as well as useful linkages to Internet sites in Commonwealth countries.

    Provides information on EAEA and CONFINTEA V
  • Informal Education
    An excellent resource site for youth workers, teachers, community workers, adult educators, facilitators and social workers. Introduction to concepts in informal education, examples of programmes and bibliographies on informal and community education in UK and Ireland.

    The Open University site provides abstracts of literature, full text articles and links to resources and providers of distance education.
  • The Ithaca Highlander Education Group
    This home page recounts the Group's visit to the Highlander Research and Education Center in New Market, Tennessee. Includes background information on Highlander.
  • National Louis University Graduate Studies in Adult Education
    This extensive website includes bibliographies and information on adult and popular education resources, profiles of leading adult educators, lists of related websites, and provides access to selected full text publications.

    Information on OISE/UT Programmes, departments and access to its services. Includes information on such projects as Indigenous Education Network and Resources for Feminist Research.
